These printable activities are a fun and simple way to help teach your kids about the water cycle! Three different worksheets for three different activity options!
This week it was my turn to host our homeschool science group and I decided to to teach about the water cycle!
For the lesson we watched a short video about the hydrologic cycle, did an easy experiment, (which was watching hot water in a bowl make steam, then condense on a plastic wrap, with a jar under it to collect the drips), and then the kids colored these printable worksheets!
The four main parts of the water cycle we covered were, Evaporation, Condensation, Precipitation, and Collection.
You can go more in depth by discussing water runoff, infiltration, and more.
I created these water cycle worksheets for kids ages 4-7, but they can be used for older kids with a little tweaking.
Here are some ideas I had for these pages:
- Have your older kids label the parts of the water cycle on the spinner and on the coloring page
- Cut the words off the bottom of the coloring page and glue them by the correct arrow
- Print the spinner wheel on cardstock, glue the wheel to a paper plate, and attach the arrow to the center with a brad. Then your kids can spin the arrow!
- Use the “blank” worksheet to have your kids draw their own water cycle pictures next to the coordinating provided arrows and labels
We had fun with these pages and the lesson today and I hope you enjoy them as well!
